All totalitarian governments use the media to promote their policies, the media becomes an arm of the government. The Nazi’s understood the use of mass media to convince the public and as the bombs rained down on Germany cities the media would lament how the war had been forced on Germany. How that warmonger Churchill had forced Germany into war.
In Russia everyone loved Chairman Stalin, the parades and demonstrations with school children dancing were proof enough to the casual observer. (...)

Vote of No Confidence: Public Says Media Are Liberal, Biased and Inaccurate
10 August 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentBy Rich Noyes
Many Americans do not believe the news media are fair, accurate or even moral, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center. The poll of 1500 Americans conducted late last month found that most of the public thinks news organizations are politically biased (55%) and often publish inaccurate stories (53%), and that roughly a third of the audience say the media are too critical of America (31%), hurt democracy (36%) and are immoral (32%).
Half of Americans (52%) (...) -
The BBC’s Deceit and Lies to Continue

CHIMES OF FREEDOM, http://tinyurl.com/2o7979
Listening to all the chest-beating currently emanating from a self-obsessed BBC anyone would think that nothing less than a revolution in broadcasting was going on. The BBC must not deceive the audience we are told by its Director General, Mark Thompson. In future, any programme makers who deceive the public will be shown the door, he promises.
And BBC staff are going to be trained in how to be honest!
Hurrah, at last the message has got (...) -
Media Lens: a very British Gatekeeper?
15 July 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
Medialens is a British website which aspires to view the British mainstream media with a critical eye and to monitor its output, "correcting for the distorted vision of the corporate media," it claims.
For years now it has had a running exchange with the BBC about its heavily biased reporting, particularly on the issues of Iraq and Afghanistan.
From time to time, I have quoted Medialens on my blog and though I have no time for its editors, Messrs Cromwell and Edwards, the two Davids, (...) -
The British Broadcasting Conspiracy exposed by a Children’s Programme and an Anachronism!
14 July 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
At last, the lying nature of the BBC propaganda machine has been exposed in the full glare of publicity. The event that has triggered this is, in my opinion, of very little consequence and by focusing on it and other petty issues it appears that, true to form, the BBC is trying desperately to distract our attention from the elephant in its living room.
Nevertheless, with the Controller of BBC 1, Peter Fincham, squirming and wringing his hands at the suggestion of his resignation, it has (...) -

World Press Freedom in the Eyes & Ears of the Beholder by Trish Schuh UNITED NATIONS- On the annual World Press Freedom Day in May, UNESCO hosted an event for journalists called "Press Freedom, Safety of Journalists and Impunity." Under Article 1 of its Constitution, UNESCO is the only United Nations agency with a mandate to defend freedom of expression and press freedom.

The Grauniad: An Unlimited Conduit for USUK’s War Propaganda
24 May 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
Fed up of the garbage with which their mainstream media force-feeds them, North American as well as readers all over the world have turned to newspapers like the UK’s Guardian in the hope of finding informed, intelligent reporting of world events. They will be disappointed. Today’s Guardian is as much part of an Orwellian, Atlanticist, warmongering propaganda campaign as is the disgraceful New York Times.
Far from being the ’socialist’ newspaper that our American cousins believe it to (...) -
BBC=Warmongers & War Criminals
19 April 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
The BBC’s approach to war and world affairs is, first and foremost, a reflection of the British puppet state’s viewpoint. It is questionable that the BBC was ever an independent organization. But, along with the widespread damage to civil and judicial freedoms caused by the noxious Blair de facto dictatorship, the BBC’s reputation has dropped to an all-time low of news-whoring.
Regular readers of this blog will know that I am constantly warning them that the Mainstream Media (MSM) in (...) -

Iran and the British Media http://www.ukwatch.net/article/iran_and_the_british_media

Exclusive to ukwatch.net an interview on the British media’s coverage of the confrontation between Iran and the United States with David Edwards and David Cromwell, editors of Medialens
The noises being made by the British and american governments are eerily reminiscent of the build up to the Iraq invasion. How has the media responded to this propaganda re-run?
The US-UK governments (...) -
The Media Cover-up of the Najaf Massacre
2 February 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
Mike Whitney – uruknet.info January 31, 2007
So far, there are 2 things that we can say with certainty about the massacre of the 250 Iraqis outside Najaf on Monday. First, we know that there is no substantiating evidence to support the official version of events. And, second, we know that every media outlet in the United States slavishly provided the government’s version to their readers without fact-checking or providing eyewitness testimony.
This proves that those who argue that (...)
